Role: Lead Developer.
The Virtual Nuclear Power Plant (VNPP) project has been a collaboration between
Westinghouse Sweden AB (WSE), Kärnkraftsäkerhet och Utbildning AB (KSU) and Research
Institutes of Sweden (RISE) – Swedish Institute of Computer Science (SICS). The project has
been done within the Strategic innovation project Processindustriell IT och Automation
support by Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems, FORMAS and the
Swedish Energy Agency.
As a lead developer, I played a leading role in the development of a real-time radiation-simulation system that is completely implemented in Unity, that is accurate and reliable to test real-world cases, and runs effeciently in VR.
We used modern technologies like "Nvidia® Optix" to achieve a high-performance raytracing that is used to accurately calucalte radiation from tens of thousands of points in real-time, in VR.
